Medical examinations are offered to employees who handle hazardous substances. These examinations are performed before and during employment to determine whether applicants or employees are physically able to perform their work. HazMat exams include: - occupational and medical history
- physical examination
- evaluation of ability to wear personal protective equipment
- base-line data for future exposures
For employees whose job duties put high demand on their cardiovascular systems, the examination also may include a cardiovascular screening with a stress electrocardiogram. Examinations meet the medical evaluation requirements outlined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). |
