Infections can spread quickly in a work site, causing loss of productivity in your workforce. Our courteous, professional staff can provide your employees vaccinations they may be missing, plus annual flu vaccines. Some adults incorrectly assume vaccines they received as children will protect them for the rest of their lives. Generally, this is true except: - some adults never were vaccinated as children
- newer vaccines were not available when some adults were children
- immunity can fade over time
- as we age, we become more susceptible to serious disease caused by common infection, such as the flu
Work Care Center offers the following immunizations at your work site. Tetanus vaccinations A tetanus vaccination is important for workers in contact with soil, sewage or domestic animals, or those with greater than usual risk of traumatic injury. A tetanus booster is recommended every 10 years to maintain active protection.
Flu shots Flu shots are offered in October and November. The vaccine takes about six weeks to build immunity.
Hepatitis B Employers are required to offer Hepatitis B vaccinations to all employees who are exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials as part of their jobs, in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. The three-injection series is given during a six-month period, and can be provided at your work site.
